Cast your memories back to December 2023, at that point we had had our Signage Production unit up and running and fully operational. Our little studio in the heart of Chippenham had run it’s course and it was time to find greener pastures. So, we made the decision to move the digital print studio into the upstairs of Unit B5, this meant we had both the digital, litho, plan and poster print studio bunking in with our signage team in the new Ashville Court development in Methuen Park, Chippenham.

Whilst a great move and allowed for smoother processes within the team, we VERY quickly ran out of space for the quickly expanding signage department, having just taken on to be the official nettl works maker for the UKs signage production within the nettl network. This meant we needed new machinery and ultimately…. more space.

So, we took on Unit B4 and moved the print shop into the newly aquired unit, freeing up valueable space, creating a dedicated Vehicle wrapping bay and packing area out back, whilst our digital photocopy and printing shop remained downstairs creating our brand new reception space. Up stairs we created a new finishing area for booklet making, wire-binding and design studio.

Don’t worry though, we’re still the same friendly, proffessional and expert printers in Chippenham and Bath that you’ve come to know and love! We’ve just had a well needed face lift…

Business Cards, Still relevant?

As it happens… YES. And we’re not just saying that for the sake of it, since COVID we saw a sharp decline in the use of business cards, and actually even prior to that we were starting to see more customers move to contactless forms of information sharing. 

BUT and it’s a big but, research has shown that potential customers are more likely to get in touch, and importantly REMEMBER you when you give them a business card, and to make sure that impression lasts, we recommend choosing a tactile finish, such as Grande Suede Velvet Lamination. 

Over the next year we’ll be ramping up our R&D as we start to introduce new materials to experiment with on our machinery. The main bulk of our production is produced using our HPR1000 direct to board printer, this halves our production time removing the need to print onto vinyl, mount to the board and then laminate. Now we can print direct to foamex, dibond aluminium composite and correx as well as specialty items such as clear acrylic, MDF, OSB & Ply, plus with the addition of white latex ink we’re able to produce bright, vivid and opaque prints.

No production unit is complete without its cutter, we’ve opted for the Veloblade NEXUS, again a machine perfect for cutting production time, now boards come direct from the printer, straight to the laminator (if needed) and popped onto the cutting bed.

The NEXUS is also capable of scoring material, so we’ve been beavering away on a few packaging products over the last year. This isn’t 100% ready for launch as we continue to perfect the process to ensure you end up with a high quality product every time!

This beaut is armed with both cutting and drilling options and is capable of cutting through some of our thickest materials like our 15mm XANITA honeycombe board.

OMTECH LASER CUTTER

Introducing the latest addition to the ever expanding fleet of machinery. We’ve been searching for a better way for us to cut acrylic without the need for excessive sanding processes, and this kit allows us to do just that, leaving beautifully smooth edges, and also allows for much more complex shapes to be cut compared to what could traditionally be achieved on a CNC.

The OMTECH is capable of both cutting and engraving on – Wood, acrylic, plastics, MDF, leather, paper, cardboard, stone, textile, rubber and foam whilst only being able to engrave direct onto glass and metal coated material.

Our new laser cutter now gives us so much more scope for products and projects, we’re looking to launch a range of ready to buy products which we’re able to produce quickly at high quality.
